Cheap Awesome Game Alert!
Listen up. GoGamer.com is having a 48 hour "madness sale" on three of the best games of this year.
They're selling Evil Genius, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay Director's Cut and Nexus: The Jupiter Incident for $12.99 each!
They are, without question in my mind, the best games this year in their respective genres. You seriously owe it to yourself to look into them if you're interested at all in good PC Games.

Think of what Ground Control was to RTS... there's no resource gathering and no construction. It's purely strategy/tactics. Outfit your given ships and go into battle.
There's a great shields system, stealth system, many types of weapons, point defenses, and fighter compliments. You can micromanage your ships to target multiple vessels at once with different weapons and manage your power systems to allocate energy to needed areas (shields/engines/weapons/support systems).
Excellent story (IMHO) as well. I played it all the way up to the end in one weekend, straight playing without hitting the desktop at all really except before/after sleeping. The last two missions kept me going for about two weeks because they were such a bitch... but it just turned out I didn't understand a crucial dynamic of the game and that was the cause.
Sadly, the game is really complex and cool but I didn't grasp on to the whole of the picture and ALL of the workings until I was nearly done. That's why I went back and played it through again on the hardest difficulty. It's even schweeter when you fully know what you're doing (I was getting pounded by missiles that carried a serious punch toward the endgame... something I had gotten by to that point without using).
Highly recommend it. Don't think you can go wrong for $12+shipping either. Good review from PCGamer too. Stunning graphics as well.
